Roger's 1930 APBA Replay

Week 4 is in the books and the replay is progressing nicely. The use of the ATMgr to complete daily transactions and to load the proper lineups for every game is a real time saver. It might have taken a few extra weeks to get this set-up from the beginning, but it was certainly worth it. All the teams have at least twenty games played at this point, although some just played their twentieth, while Detroit, for instance, has 26 games played already, so there is still some disparity to be made up. There will be a flurry of trades coming up, and well as double-headers to start accounting for the early season weather issues, so there is still a lot of baseball yet to be played. In the AL the eastern powers have started to assert themselves during their western swing, with the A's and the Yankees moving up to second and third in the standings. Monday, May 5, 1930 Boston (AL) (H) 10 Cleveland 0 Cleveland's scoring woes continue as Milt Gaston went all the way for the complete game shutout victory. Gaston picked up two hits as well. Boston First baseman Phil Todt hit two doubles and a homerun and drove in five runs to lead the Red Sox offense. New York (AL) (H) 6 Chicago (AL) 5 Lefty Gomez made his ML debut as a starter today and promptly gave up three runs in the top of the first to the visiting White Sox. Gomez settled down after that, and eventually, the Yankees got to Red Faber , scoring five in the bottom of the seventh to recapture the lead. The big hit was a Babe Ruth bases-loaded double - Ruth now has 30 RBI's for the season. Philadelphia (AL) (H) 7 St. Louis (AL) 2 Lefty Grove went all the way, scattering three hits for the easy win, and hit homerun himself to help his own cause.
