Roger's 1930 APBA Replay

All of the AL teams have reached the 80 game mark except for Chicago (79), while in the NL the only team to have reached the 80 game mark is Chicago (81). The two teams on top of the standings still have a slightly comfortable lead, but both know there are teams hungry and nipping at their heels. In the AL Washington has the same four-game lead over Philadelphia that they had a week ago. Both teams had some hard fought wins and some heartbreaking losses over the past week, but their duel for the top has started to leave the remainder of the league far behind. Boston had a bad week and might be returning to form, while the Yankees have started to win again, even as they struggle to do so. Cleveland is safely out of eighth place and is within 1.5 games of St. Louis. I still expect them to move up in the standings a few rungs before this is over. Monday, July 7, 1930 Boston (AL) (H) 3 Washington 2 A run-scoring double by first baseman Phil Todt in the bottom of the sixth broke up a 1-1 tie and Ed Morris (4-4) held off several Nationals attempts at rallies to secure the win. Chicago (AL) (H) 5 Detroit (4) (10) (GM 1) The Tigers took the lead with a three-run eighth, but the White Sox scored twice in the ninth to tie it up and send the game to extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, Carl Reynolds hit a two-out homerun to win the game for Dutch Henry (2-10) and the White Sox. Chicago (AL) (H) 7 Detroit 6 (GM 2) The White Sox took the lead with a four-spot in the seventh, but the Tigers came back with three in the ninth to tie the score at 6-6.  In the bottom of the ninth Carl Reynolds singled, stole second, and then scored on a Red Barnes single and the White Sox had their doubleheader sweep over the Tigers. Week 12 is done and that, of course, means another No-Hitter , the fifth of the replay, this one by Cincinnati's Ray Kolp , 6-0, over the powerful hitting Cardinals.No, I don't get it, I don't understand it, it's just baseball, so I am just going with it. It's just odd. Now that the 1930 Replay has completed Week 12 we are at the mid-point of the season, at least calendar-wise. Only two AL teams have reached the half-way mark in games played, Detroit (79) and Philadelphia (77). None in the NL have reached the 77 games played mark, but some are not far off. The lowest amount is Philadelphia (NL) with only 68 games played. Don’t worry - the Phillies have still managed to lead the entire league in runs allowed, which likely won’t improve much as they make up their missed games.
